Adelaide, Australia (ContentDesk) August 19, 2005 -- A back vintage tasting of De Bortoli Noble One Botrytis Semillon at one of Adelaide's top restaurants yielded some pleasant surprises for Mark Wickman of Wickman's Fine Wine Auctions recently, with earlier vintages showing off how Australia's greatest wines can mature with age. Noble One is one of Australia's premier dessert wines and is on par with the likes of Australian icons Penfold Grange and Henschke Hill of Grace and is as good if not better than some of the best French Sauternes.De Bortoli wanted to do a bit of a promotion in Adelaide, South Australia and decided to team up with Chris Jarmer@Air restaurant on North Terrace and present a tasting of their famous Noble One Botrytis Semillon. It was an excellent evening and a rare opportunity to try these wonderful wines that were superbly matched with an array of fine food. All were served from 750ml bottles and each flight was introduced by the winemakers, either Julie Mortlock or Nick Guy. I believe all past vintages were sourced from the winemakers private cellars. None of the wine was out of its drinking range and all, including the 1982 still had many years of life left in them.
Mark Wickman of Wickman's Fine Wine Auctions ( http://www.wickman.net.au ) took the opportunity to try the wines on offer and the following are Wickman's personal notes of the evening.FIRST FLIGHT with a selection of AntipastoWell, these were well matched... Why Is It So Difficult To Lose Weight After 30?
Have you tried to lose weight after 30? Wasn't that more difficult than ever before? Guess what? It's even more difficult after 40! Have you ever wondered why your body reacts differently to the same regimes you apply in different stages of your life?
People that have never had a weight problem get flabbier after 30 without clear explanation. They start exercising and they don't see any improvement. They eat less, and they still don't achieve any significant change. What they don't take into consideration is the aging impact on their body.
Aging is a Reason for Gaining Weight and the Obstacle to Losing Weight
There are more than 20 theories about aging but the most researched one is the "Free Radicals" theory.
Free radicals are atoms or molecules in which at least one electron is unpaired causing an instability (a stable atom contains a balance of paired electrons which encircle the nucleus).
This instability...
A Welcoming Entrance to the Holidays
The entrance to your home sets the stage for family, guests, and neighbors to join in the festivities you have planned for the Holiday Season. To newcomers - it is the very first impression. To others - it is a reminader of the care and attention to detail that you hve lavished on the Holidays. Your entrance announces to the outside world your celebration of the Season. All doors have architectural designs that compliment the home they are attached to.
The most impressive decorations follow these designs and highlight their finer aspects. Even a simple wooden or stock metal door can be transformed into a decorating delight with a handsome wreath of evergreen bows and bright ribbons. If your home also has side lights and transoms, these too should be accented and brought to everyone's attention. Urns, planters, shutters, etc. can emphasize the entrance to your home with Holiday touches and even lighting.
Natural materials are absolutely ideal for this time of year and can...

The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls Declare War Against Yankee Gift Swaps
WASHINGTON, DC ? The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls, through its founders Kristina "Morgan" Rose and Deandra "Brooksie" Brooks, declare war against so-called Yankee gift swaps.
"Whoever said ?it's better to give than to receive' has never had to attend a party featuring a Yankee swap," stated Brooksie. This gift-giving technique is employed under a variety of names and mutations.
Sometimes it is referred to as the "dirty Santa" game and more commonly, the "white elephant" raffle.
However, it usually follows the same basic premise.
A hostess directs her guests to bring a gift of low monetary value (aka crap) to a gathering.
All of the gifts are placed into a bag or pile and the guests draw numbers.
Guests pick and unwrap their gift in ascending numeric order.
Once all the gifts have been distributed, the guest that selected last gets to jettison their gift and take one opened by another guest. Thus all the gifts can be...
The Truth About Home Made Facials
I started making facial masks after reading several books on natural cosmetics. Common ingredients used in home made facials are eggs, lemon, milk, honey, cucumber, tomato, essential oils and lots more fruits, herbs and other ingredients. The assumption I had was that home made cosmetics, being all natural and preservative free were much safer than the
commercial masks you found in stores. A wrong assumption. You know the saying.
Never assume anything. It makes an ASS of U and ME. Did you know some of the deadliest poisons on earth are 100% natural? There are complaints about preservatives irritating the skin and all that. That may be true especially for a person with very sensitive skin. But preservatives actually make cosmetics safe to use.
Preservatives kill or at very least, inhibit the bacteria, mold, viruses and nasty things that would otherwise thrive in the cosmetics we use. Commercial preparations usually contain some preservative or other to make these...
